"Electile" Dysfunction in California

How the Ruling Elite "Legally" Manipulated the System

California has “electile” dysfunction and instead of the little blue pill, California needs the proverbial Red Pill.  It is time for the masses to have their eyes opened and see the reality of how our elections are being manipulated which leads to the disenfranchisement of millions of voters.

The changes implemented in the past decade in our once golden state by the legislature and governor have created an election process that would make a dictator envious. The powerful (the ruling elite) have gaslit us into believing they are defending our democracy and enfranchising voters when they were actively making changes that undermine election integrity and open the door to election manipulation.

They have created an election process with glaring security gaps and the resultant election outcomes have been not only statistically improbable, but they don’t align with polling data.  I guess this is the logical outcome when your policies are absolute failures and unpopular.  We have become an inconvenient impediment to their “utopian” (dystopian in reality) policies that will move America toward a socialist/totalitarian nightmare.

The elites are not interested, nor do they wish to follow the will of the people.  It is an inconvenient impediment to their agenda. They don’t live by rules and historically, the elites have always created a two-tiered system where they exempt themselves from the rules they cast upon the common folks.

It’s no coincidence that these changes happen to align with an absolute reversal on illegal immigration within the democratic party (Chuck Schumer, the Clintons, Barack Obama, etc.).  They decided to align with the socialist/totalitarian/radical wing of their party that showed them a path to seizing and retaining power.

The steps that were implemented, when taken together, have not only opened the door, but put out the welcome mat to election manipulation.  The architects of this plan deserve credit.  I wish they could apply these skills to solving actual problems Californians face instead of using it to fulfill their insatiable lust for power and control.  Maybe we would have at least 1 mile of track for the high speed rail completed, less homelessness, lower crime, lower cost of living, etc.!  It is one of the things our leaders have enacted that actually works but for all the wrong reasons!

We have to remember that this would not have been possible without help from a complicit media that has remained silent and a judicial branch that has failed in fulfilling their Constitutional obligation as a check on the power of the other branches of government.

If someone wanted to discreetly manipulate elections, what would they do?  They would make the system less secure, register voters without verification, and allow ballot boxes to be stuffed (all under the guise of helping voters who are being disenfranchised).  That is exactly what clowns we call leaders (no offense to any actual clowns) did!

How did California do it?

Here is your red pill.

Step 1: 2015: License Expansion and Motor Voter Law

  • Passage of AB 60 allowed undocumented immigrants to obtain California driver’s licenses.
  • Passage of AB 1461 (Motor Voter Law) automatically registered individuals to vote during DMV interactions unless they opted out.  Keep in mind the eligibility questions are self-report and while verification safeguards are minimal.

Step 2: 2016: Unlimited Ballot Harvesting

  • Passage of AB 1921 removed limits on how many ballots a third party can collect and return. This kicked open the door to the possibility of electioneering by political operatives. There is no cap on the amount of ballots a person can collect and turn in.  That reality alone raises questions about chain-of-custody integrity and whether the ballots being collected are from eligible voters (Are they alive? Do they even exist? Are they citizens?).  This doesn’t pass the most basic security and integrity “smell test”, yet we have been using it, without question, for almost a decade!

This did create a problem in 2018 that was subsequently solved (See Step 3).

In the 2018 midterms, there were reports of people (some were paid) dropping off boxes of ballots at polling places. This alone is very alarming but the media chose to ignore it.   If you look at what outcomes, the statistical anomaly is telling.  These harvested ballots overwhelmingly favored Democrats  and shifted the outcomes in several Orange County congressional races in subsequent days as the harvest ballots were tallied.

Statistically surprising? Yes. Illegal? No. It was so concerning that this led to a House investigation and report by the House Oversight Committee on Elections on the weaponization of ballot harvesting in the 2018 election. Despite obvious signs of possible electioneering, the media sat this one out.’

Step 3: Expansion of Unmonitored Ballot Drop Boxes

  • You can’t have reports of people dropping off hundreds of ballots because the optics are not good and that can be investigated.  The solution?  California expanded the use of large unattended ballot drop boxes. This allows people to literally stuff the ballot boxes in complete anonymity, without any verification or security.  The aforementioned problem is largely solved.

Step 4: 2020: Universal Mail-In Voting

  • The next step was to implement a “temporary” change of sending vote-by-mail ballots to all registered voters due to the pandemic. Like the expanded use of unmonitored ballot drop boxes, this eliminates signature verification and in-person identity checks.  Which is a good thing if you are trying to hide something.  This “temporary” solution is still in place 6 years later! The ruling elites don’t want to mess with a good thing!  .

Imagine this: A person (real or fictitious, eligible or ineligible, dead or alive) can register and cast their vote without ever interacting in a face to face situation. The gas lighting has reached epic proportions as we are told over and over again by the media, social media, etc. that these are the most secure elections in history.  This does not align with reality.

As a common sense, critical thinking individual, none of this passes the most basic tests of having valid and secure elections.  There is more security on the California state tests given to elementary school students than there is on the ballots that decide the direction of our constitutional republic!  That is not hyperbole.

Yet we have millions of ballots floating around in the mail.  No other nation on Earth does this!

What Now?

It is time for total and complete transparency.  We need a ruthless examination by a nonpartisan commission of citizens empowered to conduct a robust examination of the state of our elections system (voter registration, ballot security, and voting processes).  Then use this information to develop a system that ensures integrity, validity, and security while at the same time ensuring that every eligible voter has easy access to registering and casting their vote.

These are not mutually exclusive.  We can have both.  Don’t believe the political hacks on both sides that scream and yell that this is impossible.

It is time for us, the people, our media, and the third branch of our government (the judicial system) to take a red pill and start facing these unpleasant realities.  Our constitutional republic is being threatened by the abuse of power and a manipulation of our voting systems.

A Pragmatic Proposal:

  • Create National Voting Day that coincides with the honoring of our veterans (November 11th).  This is a great way to honor those who sacrificed for subsequent generations to have the freedom and ability to choose our leaders. Veteran’s Day/National Elections Day would be a great way to celebrate, honor, and protect our Republic and increase voting access.
  • Maintain early voting practices by opening secure polling places 14 days ahead of National Voting Day.
  • Utilize paper voting systems that ensure accurate vote collection and counting (eliminate electronic voting machines due to inherent security risks and lack of paper records)
  • Implement Voter ID to increase election security and integrity.  Also develop programs to ensure that all citizens receive support (if needed) to obtain proper state identification documents.
  • Eliminate unlimited ballot harvesting (except by family members).
  • Eliminate unmonitored ballot drop boxes.
  • Return to absentee ballot procedures that require individuals to request an absentee ballot (cease automatically sending ballots to every registered voter).
  • Require independent audit of all voter rolls every 2 years and have a system to verify a person’s eligibility when they register.
  • Cease automatic voter registration (individuals can still register to vote, if they choose to, in person at places like the DMV, etc.).
  • Create federal law that requires that all states create a citizen commission to draw district boundaries in public meetings - no exceptions.

These steps would make our elections more secure and ensure all voices are heard. The goal of any election system should be to make it as easy as humanly possible for any eligible, registered voter to vote while at the same time making it as difficult as possible for any possible election manipulation.

Finally, We the People need to have our voices heard through voting, letters, social media, emails, peaceful protests, etc., to induce change.  The silent majority cannot remain silent any longer. We cannot allow the “tail to wag the dog” any longer.  The true will of the people should be the voice directing our nation and protecting our individual liberties.
